This is the home page of my genealogy web site where you will find details of my ancestral history. This site mainly covers my Wiggans, Wareing, Dickinson and Sargeant branches, all of which sprouted and flourished in the area between Preston, Leyland and Chorley in Lancashire, England. Four generations of the tree are shown below.

I would like to acknowledge all those individuals and organization who have generously provided me with information and assistance. This has allowed me to collect a far greater amount of information than I ever could have done alone. In particular I would like to thank David and Lena Holmes for the huge amount of information they kindly provided on the Wiggans branch.

Wiggans Surname - United Kingdom Distribution Map
It is widely believed that a high concentration of a surname in a particular area indicates where that surname might have originate. If this is so then the map on this page strongly suggest that the WIGGANS surname originated around the English county of Oxfordshire.

Bradshaw Street and Spring Gardens, Leyland, Lancashire
Many of my ancestors, near and distant, lived in this area from around 1870 and so it is of particular interest to me.

I have created several trees showing the ancestors of the individuals shown above. I have also produced trees showing the decendants of two of my wife's 4th great grandfathers who lived around Dundee, Scotland.
