Hi Derek, I cannot resist a new site. I know that you will be greatly blessed as people start to visit it. I have family connections with Lancs and Cheshire, actually a cousin of my fathers lived in Preston, I remember going there the day before we left the UK. They were John and Ethel Walker. It was a cold miserable day too. I'm researching the Robinsons, Warhurst, Bond, Jessop and Lee families. All the very best and as we say in Wales Diolch yn Fawr Phyllis

Researching into Early Settlers in Carterton nz. and buried at Clareville Cemetery, so hopefully anyone reading this, there may be a connection with NZ! Derek: I need motivation to create my own web page. My great-grandparents immigrated to Canada in 1910 from Chorley. I have always been interested in family history and made my first trip to England about 20 years ago to meet one of the Chorley relatives. Unfortunately he died this past January and I will be returned in a few months to help his niece sort things out. I love going to chorley.

GREAT SITE! Sorry we are no kin, at least I don't think so. I want to do a website one of these days but don't have a clue as to how to start. My Bennett line was from Dumbarton. My great grandfather, Samuel Bennett, started the newspapers there. The Dumbarton and Lennox Herald. He was also provost for several years prior to his death. I bought a booklet while over there at the Rob Roy Center and to my surprise found his picture in it. My brother has a very large picture of him in his robe and medal around his neck. His picture really looks like my older son as he has a long beard too. I have been to Scotland three times and will be coming back this July/Aug with a tour. The other times I have always been with family but on our own doing genealogy some and then enjoying the sites.
From: Jacqi Corcoran, Melbourne, Australia Posted on: Thursday, March 27, 2003, 07:21 AM Congratulations, Derek, on a great start. I love your slant on the genealogy of a street. Your site is fresh, neat and easy to read and navigate. Apart from our common Wiggans ancestors, I found other surnames in common (Bennett, Waring, Norris, Thornley) in the same areas but will need more work before I can confirm connections.

An excellent website. I knew my ancestory as far back as James and Jane Wiggans of Eccleston. From their son, Thomas, downwards, through James, Thomas, Richard, William and James(my father), I know the Farms where they lived and where they are buried. Thanks for broadening the picture. I will now do some more cross checking.

Dear Derek I was most surprised when bumped into your web site the other day. I thought you maybe interested to know I am one of the descendants of the Bowling’s from the Orange Square area. Many years ago my Father’s brother a John Bowling gave me some information relating to the period you are interested in. Unfortunately, mainly relating to the Bowlings, but never the less it maybe useful to add a bit of background. If you are interested I will search it out and give you a copy. I keep meaning to follow up his research, but never seem to find time. I also have somewhere a picture of Orange Square, just before it was demolished. Again, if you want a copy I will try to find it for you. Please feel free to email if you want more information.
